TransCulture's principal aim is to provide high quality consulting and training services to local and international clients in Central and Eastern Europe by focusing on cultural conciliation in a global operating environment.
TransCulture is a British/Hungarian enterprise formed in Hungary in 2002. Following extensive research, it was found that local Hungarian managers expressed a strong demand for cross-cultural consulting and training services, especially when dealing with global companies in a dynamic emerging regional economy in Eastern Europe. The prospect of EU membership for several countries in 2004 will have the effect of bringing working cultures closer together. This will in turn lead to the need to understand how managers from different countries think and work becoming more urgent.
The company has a policy of delivering only tailor made training and consulting services to its clients. As a first step, we always conduct a needs analysis exercise in order to identify the real business needs of our clients and to set objectives for any project we undertake. We then use these objectives to measure the long-term efficiency and effectiveness of our work. Unlike other training and consulting providers, we do not offer a prescribed standard ' set menu' of courses for our clients. This is because we very often find that standard models typically developed in the USA and Western Europe are not culturally sensitive to business situations in Central and Eastern Europe.
In addition to working on development of smaller projects, TransCulture is currently involved in two major projects in co-operation with partners in Hungary and the UK:
Submission of a EU Leonardo proposal for training and development of SME companies. This project is expected to begin in 2004 and will apply to SMEs in the CEE region, and to others in Western Europe, particularly the UK and Germany.
An ongoing cross-cultural training programme for a major Hungarian industrial company expanding its operations throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
